He wrote it while in Iraq to explain to his family what it was like. He had an Iraqi kid buy the guitar for him and he and a friend wrote the song in about an hour then recorded on a laptop. He sent it to his mom and he had the local radio station play it. It got big and after Luke came home he got a record contract. I have been listening to his music for 3 years now and he is very good. Luke This video is from a Marine sending a message to the Dixie Chicks. He is a pretty good singer.
