Anybody familiar with hunting non-resident up there..I was invited to come hunt whenever I want by a friend that has family there and 650 acres that they never hunt..All the land around it is leased but their children do not hunt anymore and the land has not been hunted in 15 years..I looked at the website and saw a application that was due June 2nd..Is that for public land or am I out of luck hunting this year..

You're out of luck this year, kansas did away with transferable non-resident tags. If you want to hunt kansas you must apply by the deadline that is set each year, this years was June 2nd. I'm chomping at the bit for the draw results to get out in the next couple of days....

How will you know in a couple of days? It was about the end of July or early August last year when I found out that I did not make the draw.

I always thought it was beginning of july that they published the results, I could be wrong. In fact I don't remember when I found out last year, but I found out on line before I got my permit in the mail...

How did you find out? Mail or online, I checked online and it said "no data found" as if they have not drawn yet.

TexasDefender, I checked also and got the same response "no data found" which may mean we ain't going to deer hunting in Kansas this year but maybe they just haven't posted all the results yet.

I hope they haven't posted results yet, from what I've been told it was going to be almost 100% this year. I also have a way to "play the numbers" with how I submit my permit, hasn't failed me yet  ....
If your still hunting the same area you told me about last year pm me, I'll let you know where to eat, etc...

Not sure where you hunt in Kansas but we hunt the same kind of place in Parsons, family farm. In Parsons or Labette county they have over 800 firearm tags each year that are not drawn or applied for. Go to the Kansas Parks and Wildlife website and send them a message, very possible you can purchase a tag on line or over the counter depending on the unit you hunt. Good luck, big ole deer in Kansas. Just checked on line, got mine.

somebody posted the results early and then they pulled them, now they posted them again yesterday. Texasdefender whats your way of playing the numbers?

We both drew tags for Unit 9. I heard NR should be about %100 this year.

My Buddy and I both drew archery tags this year. Its been a wet year and the beans are allready over a foot tall. Its going to be a better season this year if that is possible.
