I want to take my daughter dove hunting this year, but would like to find a day lease close to Dallas. I'd appreciate any information you guys could provide.

My father and I did a season lease in Nevada and it didn't really pan out. Tons of cut milo and wheat, but only SAW less than 5 dove and fewer than that were worth shooting at. There were a good number of other hunters out there on opening day, but none of them seemed to have any luck either. Did talk to a guy at lunch that hunted a Corp of Engineer area around Lake Lavon and had pretty good luck. Don't know whether or not the water made the difference. There wasn't really any water around the fields we were in. Went out again later in the season and didn't see a thing. Did meet another guy who was scouting things out the day before opening day and he mentioned that he had seen a decent number of dove. Might have just been the luck of the draw.
