Now, this is not the healthist thing to cook and we only do it about once or twice a year, most of the time at deer camp. I saw this on the Texas Country Cooking show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfbTO0GlONU
Get the thick sliced bacon and batter it up like you would a chicken (dip in flour, then egg, then flour again.) Deep fry until golden brown. Make some cream gravy to pour over it. Instead of gravy you can also dip it in Ranch Dressing.
(Instead of salt and pepper, I just sprinkler chlorestrol pills over it!) Just kidding........

This has been on here before. If you are in the Azle/Springtown area, Randy's on 199 sells 10 lbs of thick-sliced bacon at the first of each month. It is the same stuff I use to wrap the roast meats I cook in the pit.

There's a place about an hour from us that sells it. My dad says it's great. He liked it so much that he went home and tried to make it himself, with no success at all. I plan to give it a try soon, and hopefully I'll have better luck than he did.

I forgot to mention that the place that sells it is in Riverside, TX, just outside of Huntsville. I believe it's Little Pizza Heaven.

Half-way between Houston and Dallas, just off of I45. Out of Huntsville, follow 19 North, and you'll see Riverside.

The first time I ever tried it was at Sodolak's in Snook about 15 years ago. I brought some to our office in Houston and ended up sending some to our offices in California and New York. They said it sounded terrible but every bit was gone within minutes.
If you try it, definitely use the thickest you can find and I especially like the kind with lots of pepper aound the outside of it.

We tried it in Snook also several months ago, the idea behind it is good...It just seemed a little bland. My only comment agrees with some previously stated...my recommendations before you eat some is to TAKE A ROLL OF PAPERTOWELS TO SOP-UP THE GREASE!!!!!
Oh well, it was still really good, just need to adjust the seasoning

There needs to be a fat tax on this food to keep my premiums down.
