I'm afraid the leases in South Texas can be very expensive!!! Have you tried the lease guide on this forum in "lease & land" I wish I could help you find something but unfortunately I can't!!! You may be able to find something in a local newspaper in the area or Texas parks and wildlife and it would be helpful to know what you consider "breaking the bank"!!! I wish you luck!!!

Personally i would rater go on a guided big game hunt in Colorado than pay a South Texas lease fee for the same money.

You asked a legitimate question, and while you may not appreciate the levity in some of the answers, you got some legitimate answers.
As some one else asked, what do you consider "Breaking The Bank"?
$3500.00, $4500.00, $5000.00?
I go along with the idea that for the kind of $$$ you would be out on a south Texas lease, you could go on either a really good package hunt here in Texas and probably kill a bigger buck than you ever might, trying to get one on a lease of your own.
Or, you could go on a guided big game hunt in Colorado or Wyoming, maybe even two for what a good south Texas lease would run you.
If you are dead set on getting on a south Texas lease, your best bet is to check out the ads in places like the TTHA magazine and with some of the CofC's in some of the larger towns in that region.
