She only stayed through force fetch but I am so happy with how she is retrieving to hand it isn't even funny. I really feel like she will be a good and useful companion during hunting season.
Today she retrieved 2 pigeons. On one she didn't go far enough on her initial mark, but she quartered her way out to it. She was a little too excited with us all being reunited today but she still did really well.
I took her to the park on the way home and with a lot of distractions she did her water retrieves perfectly for my wife and me both coming to a "heel,sit" and then delivering to hand on "drop". She even heeled without a lead past a big group of kids.
She is still a little rough around the edges, but that refinement is up to me to keep working with her.
This is my first lab and I am very excited about her potential and the progress she has made.

now you just need to start doing some scouting and finding some places to hunt...when you get those places just pass the GPS info along and I'll make sure it a good spot
|

How long did you have her there? I have a month of free training that I won at the DU banquet last year. I plan on sending my new pup to him sometime for at least that.

Stopped by and saw my girl today, Probably saw yours there when I dropped her off last month...
Glad to hear your pleased, Zack is a fantastic guy to work with, and my girl should be ready in a week or so

Zack told me Maya was there but that was right as we were leaving and I did not go back in the kennel to see her.

I heard that zack gave Maya to a pointer trainer and she is starting to point upland birds just like she does her food bowl
