My dad has a .357/38 revolver that he got 30 years ago for his bday. i was looking at their website last night seeing how much a brand new one is, it says they are over a thousand dollars.... is that correct? i do not see a model number on it or anything. where is the model number located on these? is there any on gunbroker for sale that are that old, i couldn't find any. please let me know. thanks

Open the wheel and look under where the extractor goes and it will say the model number, serial number and what kind of frame.

haha thanks, i should have known to do that. here's what i found out about it.

19-4 (1977): Change gas ring from yoke to cylinder. (Not really an "improvement". It did make it slightly easier to clean if there was heavy leading, but basically was a cost-cutting measure.)

I have the M19. Keep it, you'll not regret it.
