all the above are good. Never heard a bad word about zack or rody. I dont think you could go wrong with any of them.

I have seen Jack run a couple of Masters and his dogs always look good. I have also heard good things about Rody but have not seen him run his dogs. I have seen Zach post tips and he sounds like he knows what he is talking about but have not seen his dogs before. I would recommend you go train with all 3 and see their operation, how the train, etc. and let that help you make your decision.

Rody Best is a great trainer. I don't know him personally but I've seen his dogs run. He's had dogs in the SRS Crown Championship the last two years and this year he consistently finished in the top 5 of the events he ran. He and Ike finished 4th in the SportDog Team of the Year standings behind the likes of Lyle Steinman and Clint Johnson. I wouldn't hesitate taking a dog to him.
Zack is a member here on the forum and he's given me good solid advice before. He and Rody graduated from Triple Crown Dog training academy back when they offered retriever training there.

I use Eric Sutton with Soggy Bottom Retrievers. He also went to the Triple Crown academy. Does a great job.

I have a dog with Zack at High Performance Retrievers.
About Zack: He is a very clear communicator. He lets you know what the goals are for each stage of training and has a plan laid out. I call and get an update from him about once a week and he describes it in a way that makes you feel like you are watching the dog. You can tell he is trying to get into the dogs mind to adapt to your dog's personality and get the most out of her. He spends the time necessary to train the humans too. Not just me but the wife and older kids too.
About his facility: NE of Temple out in the corn fields near Bellfalls (West of Troy). He has a great kennel and training facility and the dogs are comfortable and happy.
My Dog: Her name is Daisy, she is a Yellow Lab almost 10 months old. She is a dog from my cousin's backyard and not out of a reliable kennel's lines (though the parents do hunt). What are you going to do when you're at the family reunion with your wife and kids and they have 12 yellow puppies?

This is the end of her second month with a month break between the two months and I just got a call from Zack today with an update.
She has finished force fetch on the table and is working retrieving to hand on the ground with the e-collar. He says she retrieves to hand without being told and has a great desire to retrieve, especially with pigeons.
He is working on the "drop" command because he said that she tends to hold on. Since she just went through force fetch I think I can understand her not wanting to let go of the thing that stopped her ear from hurting .
This will probably be the last month there since my wife is giving me grief. We are going to work on a plan to finish with the basics so that I should have a reliable if inexperienced retriever by Dove Season.
My dad is really looking forward to this since he can't walk too well anymore. Neither of us has ever had a retriever before.
I have been very satisfied with the results and look forward to picking up my dog on Monday.
