5 to 6 years is the norm. Easiest to get into and hardest to get out of... I should know!

About hunting, don't get your hopes up sooooo high. Yes, it is a great jumping point for great hunting. Just calm down and take it easy. Don't go buying rifles and stuff just yet. Meet people and talk with people. Plus you can't store that stuff in the dorm or car!! The Lake Meredith deer season is open only during week before Thanksgiving holidays and finals time and it is going to be a 140+ mile drive one way!! Your best way to get to go hunting is by meeting people with land out there already and you should access to plenty of farm boys in the dorm there. (Be careful of their type of hunting methods as well. Not always the most ethical. Just some of them though.) They will be the ones in the hall with a little cow throwing a rope at it. Stay away from the dudes wearing pink polo shirts. You'll burn too much gas driving to the brush country to hunt with them.

If you join a fraternity, there are usually several guys who hunt all the time and have access to places which they own. Think locals. Join an ag club.

The only time I really made time to hunt while at Tech was when I came home and duck hunted with my dad. Other than school about the only thing I focused on was my social life and chasing girls.

I wish I would have spent more time hunting then did...god I would love to have just 1 more year in college up there

What he meant to say is that you better forget about the hunting and everything else if you think you are going to get out in four years. lmao. I got out in 8 semesters but I took several 20 hour loads to do it. Plus an easy major.

Yeah, what is wrong with charging a $5 cover and giving everything away for free!??!

I worked the door at a place that used to be on Broadway street. hmmm... Amazing how everyone I carded was under 21!

when I moved back to austin the biggest shock was paying $5 a beer instead of .50

and no Schooners, just regular old pint glasses

When i went a couple months ago I was surprised how many hot chicks were there (in the middle of no where!!) Im heading out there this Sunday for new student orientation so ill be seeing quite a bit more. dont know if I want to hunt more or just chase around girls. how is a guy supposed to choose between the best things in life!!!

The way I look at it is you'll have your entire life to hunt. If I went back and did it again I'd probably do it the same.

Yeah I went to Lubbock a couple months ago to meet up with some old fraturnity brothers and play golf at the new Tech course...damn there are a lot of hot girls in that town. It made me feel pretty old though. Sucks how you age but your taste in women pretty much stays the same.

honestly their cheeleaders are by for not the hottest girls on campus. 2 of them come from my school and they're alright but ive never seen that many hot girls around here.

You will have a blast at Tech. I was there from 89'-95'. He is right, just get to know the farmers real well and they will usually give you permisssion. What I did when I was there is that I went to the local Texas Parks and Wildlife and got some stop poaching stickers and went out and gave them to the farmers. If they think that you are involved in helping them out and not just wanting to use them to hunt, they will be more apt to help you out.

got several invites last year and was only able to make one...

I am suppose to head to North Dakota for 10 days this October and that might hinder me heading up to the panhandle? But then again, I don't know...

But to answer the question...Yes, I would love to go up there again!!!
