Huge Bull Buffalo
      #445310 - 06/20/08 11:02 PM

We have decided to sell our herd bull. He's huge. I don't know how to score buffalo, I just know he's a huge one and would look very impressive on someone's wall.

He took 2nd place last year and he was bigger then the 1st place bull but the 1st place bull hadn't started shedding his winter coat yet so he looked better.

He has gotten too dangerous for me to have around anymore though so it's time for him to be mounted. He can lift a 1200lb round bale of hay with me on top of the bale (which is another 230 lbs) with one horn and shake the crap out of my tractor in the process.

He's $2900 with meat or $2500 without meat. I did some looking online and that's about half what a person would pay through an outfitter.

He's big and tough and VERY dangerous so I'm not loading him to take him anywhere. That would be the buyers responsibility. I'll take him to our local custom butcher for whoever buys him. He can be bow hunted if you want but I would prefer a good clean rifle or slug kill. If he's shot with a bow and decides to go through my fence, the customer is responsible for the fence repair. A bow hunter would have to sign a liability waiver, provide proof of life insurance and whatever else our attorney recommends before setting foot in his field. I personally wouldn't want to be that close to him, even in a tree.

That being said the long and short of it is he's huge, mean, fast and would look very good on the wall.

He's the one on the right in the picture a few posts below. The cow on the left is 30 feet closer then him and appears the same size, that's how big he is and as you can tell, he's not happy about me being that close to his cows and I'm 80 feet away with high fence between me and him concealed behind a telephone pole.

Call Tred Barta and see if he will come after him with a knife. Please let me know if he accepts cause I would love to come out a watch that. I would even drive to Missouri to watch.

I have seen this buffalo, and he is huge. The majority of buffalo hunts these days are not challenging, it is more for the mount that you can get and the huge amount of meat. Most of my clients are guys that pool their money with friends and neighbors because they all want to have a lot of buffalo burger and steaks in the freezer... I wish I had some in my deep freze right now.. that stuff is good.

Not sure if they ever were. Back in the day seems as though they killed 'em by the thousands for the hide, wasn't ever for the sport.
I'd do it, just need $2900 and a couple more freezers.

Depends on if you're bullet proof. I guarantee I'll get 2 or 3 in you before you get to my wife's horses pasture. You're a special kind of messed up.

Wow, there's some big men behind keyboards! If any of you guys really think you're man enough to take him with chop sticks and chinese stars you are most welcome to give it a try. Worst case scenario, we make a few grand off America's Funniest Home Video's and get rid of a few "to big for their britches" guys in the process.

Funny, most Texans I meet are much more level headed. Then again, I guess they're smart enough to not make stupid posts too.

I got the video camera. Man up and and put your money where your mouth is if you really got the. Let's do it.

i think people are trying to say here that its a canned hunt. but since you clarified that its not really a hunt, i don't see what the problem is. the people that are going to buy this guy will do so for the mount/meat.

funny, i saw the guy with the ram hunts on 12 acres get less slack

Yeah, I don't recall selling a hunt. A bull his size would be much more then that on a hunt. It takes all types though. Some just have nothing better to do then to voice their own opinions that nobody really cares about anyway. I guess it makes them feel like a big man.

There's plenty of other places to advertise him where the audience doesn't consist of such ones though.

Take care TxTrophy85.

I'm glad to see the moderators stay out of it. This is just a couple of Texans having fun with a guy. No harm no foul. Very funny though.

Just dart the thing, use that tractor to lift him up and get the fob done. Will save your fence, and the boys can pose with their chop sticks.

Okay here is what I think ....four or five guys pool their money to draw to see who shoots this thing. Meaning we divide $2900 by 5 and draw a name for the "shooter" and we all split the meat. This is some GOOD Stuff. That is only $580 each for a FREEZER full of GREAT LEAN INJUN FOOD!

Now for the kicker ....the four that do not get drawn for the KILL SHOT, we will be enjoying snacks and cold barley soda beverages, while enjoying the "SHOW."

Should the "shooter" get trampled, mamed, dismembered, or just plain ground until he is one with the earth ....well then the meat proceeds are divided by 4 and we draw for a new shooter? I suggest I draw last and the previous 4 "shooters" go with a Bow!!! LOL!!!

OH YEA!!! I agree...This is just the useful harvest of a farm raised animal. Canned hunt? I do not think so...now if you pastured Betsy the ole Jersey Milk cow and advertised, c'mon...exotic Beef hunt for sale...well different story.

I applaud the man's creativity for wanting to get rid of this animal. Incidentally, the hunts in Wyoming, Idaho, Monatana and the likes...no different...pick the dominent bull....walk across the field and shoot him. However, you do PRAY LIKE HECK that you put him down. they are Mean as $%&& !!

Hey, can we invite PETA? LOL!
