Well, looking forward to hunting,it's just hard havig to wait till it cool off some, being I'm not able to get out in the heat and that way I can go and get some practice shooting and make sure it still sighted in! Just doing a day at a time! Is anyone else ready! I suppose that those that can handle the heat did some dove hunting over the weekend! Well I hope all is well with everybody. DRT

Bob, You missed a good one this time. Lots of birds in Hardeman county and plenty of feed to last them another couple of months easy. Seed & weeds still a little green and wet but we had plenty of shredded sunflowers and stock tanks to make the shooting fun. The northern migratory bird are still in Kansas and ought to be fat and happy when they get here on the first big cold front. Might have to go back in a couple of weeks. Two guys had close calls with rattlers mid morning Sat. Quail are doing a great comeback considering there was not many carryovers from 06. We got a double hatch this spring/summer and some are still paired up. They should do fine this year with plenty of insects, seeds, and a solid cover of broom weeds. Great to see the coveys rise again. Gona be hard on the bird dogs with all the cover they will have. Pastures are solid broom weed.

Hummmmmm Yup I had that coming for not going
Looks like we may have to try again a little later. I did get up with 1 happyhunter, camped at Clear Springs part of the night, then had the Safety Class Sat.morning and returned Sat. afternoon. Wife is doing much better now, so I guess we'll go to Del Rio this weekend and then I can get back to hunting more. Btw we had limits fishing three days in a row last week, things are starting to look up a bit now.

Glad to hear the Debbie is doing well. Wish her the best and hope it is all over. Hope you have a nice trip. Is she a diver? Give me a holler when them fishs get good and hungry. Florida spoiled me on fish. I ate a large seafood combo 2 times while there. Then we had a shrimp feast with #8 and all the trimmings- man those were great.
