Panhandle, Kansas, Nebraska Quail/Pheasant Combo Hunt

Trying not to wait until the last minute to gather some info on such.

What are the chances of getting this done without going through an outfitter? Got back in the bird dog business after about a 30 year absense and always wanted to do this.

Any tips or infromation from anyone who hunts any of these areas would sure be appreciated.

Thanks

Hunted Kansas, for several years, Lots of good walk in hunting areas, esp for pheasant (some days we saw over 100 birds). Found quail but not lots, best day mabey 3 coveys. Kansas puts out a map of areas but you should spend some time scouting before season opens. You will be taking a chance on how much an area has been hunted before you get to it, as everybody and their brother as access. Great part is it's 100percent walk in, no motor vehicle traffic. And it's all available for just the cost of your liscense.
