Looking for places to hunt
|
Looking for some places to hunt with wife and son. I only hunt public because do not have time to get lease with job. Could someone help out and maybe give some places in North Texas. Thanks

Welcome to the THF.
Depending on where you are located, there are the LBJ and Caddo National GrassLands areas to the North and West of the DFW MetroMess.
Then there are the various TP&W Type II lands around the state, they require hunters to have the $48.00 Annual Public Hunting permit.
Also you can check with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers about public hunting opportunities at some of the lakes they manage.
Also, as I posted in aan earlier thread, tP&W has sent out the 2008-2009 Public Lands drawing Hunts application and instruction booklet, you can either contact TP&W thru their home page or go to the Regional Office of TP&W that is closest to where you live.
