Galatians 5:13

"You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love."

We are so very blessed to live in the greatest country in the History of the world. We have incredible freedom, most of us live a life that is very comfortable. As we pause the normal everyday things today to say happy birthday to our nation, let us also take a deep look into how we use the freedoms we are provided. When I excercise these freedoms do I move closer or further from God? Freedom allows choices, choices allow actions, as a Christian the results of my actions should be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. When I consider my actions over the last week are these the results?

Lord bless and protect all of our service men and women protecting our great country and providing the front lines of defense that freedom requires. Lord give the ones you love a heart for your service and the bravery and strength to face this world with love, even in the most violent and wretched situations. Lord bring peace today to the families who have lost love ones as they protected our freedom, hold them in your loving hands Lord. Lord bring peace to the families that are seperated from love ones as they serve to protect our freedom. In Jesus's name, Amen.
