fleas
|
|
shot two hogs last nite, one a piglet and one an 80 lb sow.
i skinned the piglet, and before i was done, had about 100 fleas on me. was so miserable, it took my 2 hours to get them all off of me. threw the other hog away.
i've never seen it so bad on a pig, anyone else have a remedy for this, i like eating pork, but its not worth getting flea bitten for 2 hours

One option I've seen before is to hang the hog & take a cactus burner to it; only long enough to singe off the hair as well as the fleas & ticks.

Probably not one close, but I have heard of taking them to the carwash and powerwashing them. Guess you could try a portable poer washer if you have facilities

I assume this is done before you gut them? Please explain the process a little better?
Thanks
