West Texas Boys Ranch Hunt Pix

Well the first annual West Texas Boys Ranch Hog Hunt has come and gone with one hog killed. The inclement weather played a small role in our hunting efforts. Actually hunting two seperate ranches, the weather ended one of the hunts abruptly. All of the boys got to get off some shots in a barage of gunfire at a group of hogs. Following are pix of Hwy_Man, 7Mag, KWR, DGilbert, TxBowhunter1, TGil, 350, Ranch, BayouRat, Maggie, J.R., Cool_Hand, (not pictured), Mike Wyatt, (outfitter and lodge). I will let someone else fill in other activities. There was a deadly ceiling fan that managed to head bang two people in it destructive path of rage!!!  Agreat time was had by everyone I hope. The timming was good and the boys had a great time also. Thank s to all of you who donated.

Lies, half truths and damn lies. Any and all incriminating photos of myself are photoshopped and a desprate act of a deeply diturbed person. We did have a good time though and it was great to meet some of the folks from here I hadn't meet before. TGil do we call you hammerfanhead now or Fammerhead??? DGilbert I hope you got Ralph to call you back after looking for him all morning. Roy is right Kent is a midget!!! Honestly we are blessed with a great bunch of guys on here.

Too many Thank Yous are in order, and I will let JR chime in when he is ready. One thing I will mention is, bayourat worked his arse off, both times the boys went out. Tim knew where to put em and the boys had shot opportunities, both times. I didn't see Tim this morning, but I thought he deserved a thank you. He guided these boys in rain ect and took care of the cleaning as well. Thanks Tim, your a man of your word

Was an honor being included, Talked to Mike, and the guys at the Boys Ranch and I think were looking at the weekend after quail season ends next year. Should be cooler then and the hogs should be easier to pattern before everything turns green and blooms out. Again greatest bunch of guys I've ever had the pleasure to hunt with. Look forward to next years hunt and many more camps with the people we met this weekend

Most welcome TBH1. Had it not been for Easton I don't know what we would have done. Good quality food was sent and donated!! The burgers I understand were angus meat, wow were they also good. J.R. and Maggie and several more made the meals some of the best. And the company was outstanding. Maybe the next GTG will be larger and more yielding when it comes to the game. Thanks all for coming and making it an unforgetable time!!

Sorry I haven't chimed in until now. I arrived home sicker'n a dog with flu-like symptoms.
Don't have muhc to say in addition to the hunt summaries so far. What's missing is pics of the hog! Here's what I got...
Too many thanks to hand out, but I'm going to try. First, a couple special ones:
Tim/Bayourat - Dude, if I'm ever faced with an charging Rhino in the bush, you're the PH I want by my side. You and Maggie worked SO hard to make everything right and I don't think we could have done this without either of you! Your young-uns were wonderful to spend time with, too.
Benny - You contribution started weeks ago & continued all the way through. THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything. The location was more than anyone could have asked for, the breakfasts prepared by you and your wife were delicious, and your help in organizing this thing was priceless. Bless you, Sir, for all your (and your wife's) help.
Roy/Kent/Mike - You guys walked in the door with prizes that blew the boys away & even some gear for us lowly hunters, as well as wanting to know where you could help. Thanks so much to all of you! Your advice, kindness, and comeraderie (sp.?) were the best.
Thanks to DGilbert for representin' the THF & for carrying the well wishes of J.P. and the THF.
Sorry to group everyone else together, but this would reach 3 pages of not. Your attendance and support were much-appreciated and I enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. I hope we can continue to stay in touch, network, and get together now & then. ANY of you gentlemen (and Ladies, for Maggie & the girls) are welcome in my home in Frisco any time you're in the area.
To everyone who attended, wanted to, contributed a prize or food, and took ANY part in this hunt in any form, I say:
I wish all of you could have been with me when I met those boys in Coleman and saw the excitement in their eyes...seen their faces when they stepped into that hunting lodge...seen them go after all the food...watched their eyes as we stalked the pigs in the open field
Sunday morning...seen their reaction to the big white/black pig on Tim's talgate...listened to them talking about hunting...seen the surprize at all the gifts/prizes...and heard all the sincere "Thank You's" those boys offered before leaving.
The whole thing has reminded me just how insignificant the things I call "problems" or "inconveniences" really are. There are good people and good causes out there that deserve MUCH more of my attention and my focus than the little things that I let distract me now & then. I'm humbled by everyone's kindness, and feel very fortunate to be in company with good folks like each of you. I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity to do something like this!

I hate that I had to cut out before they got the "give-aways". I didn't get to spend a much time with the boys, but I was impressed with their manners. As I was saying my good-byes and wishing well to them, they would stop what they were doing, (even if it was playing the Wii)stand up, look me in the eye and shake my hand like a man (says a lot for the sponsors and the program)!
I had a great time, and this wasn't about us! Good to meet those of you that I'd never met before and good to see you again to the ones I already knew.
Kuddos to Easton for the groceries donated, EXCELLENT!

Did ANYONE get back with an extra pop-up. Ours didnt get back to us, NO biggie just wanted to track it down. We can get it anytime before deer season but like I said...NO BIGGIE, just wanted to see where it ran off to. Its an Easton pop-up in a bag/cover with stakes rattling in the bag.

Maggie, Kent did have a pop up, that did not belong to him. This may be the one your missing. We arrived at the house and he thought it was mine, but it isn't. He is out of town right now, but should be back from the Circus on wedenesday.

Case number 08-12567
Victim-Maggie
On 6-29-08 officers responded to a theft of a pop up blind at Cool Hands ranch. Upon arrival contact was made with victim, Maggie. Maggie states that she allowed a group of people to use the numerous itmes for a hunt, including pop up blinds. The items were never given to any one person, only to be used for the duration of the hunts. Maggie states she saw a short approx 2'11" hispanic or black male subject around their van. The subject was standing on a ladder, looking inside the van. At approx. 0330 Maggie states she witnessed the subject enter the van, through a rear window. Maggie states she attempted to wake her husband bayourat, to no evail, as he was to intoxicated to move. Maggie states she saw the subject, take the pop up blind and place in a white in color Chev. Z-71. The dwarf or very short subject ran inside the lodge where he hid the remainder of the night. The following morning the white PU with occupants had left the premises. The following is a description of the subject with picture before tanning, and a state wide broadcast has been given to all agencies.
Suspect- Kent Wesley Rivera
Height-2'11'-3'6"
Weight-220 lbs
No hair, has a knot wound from a helicopter accident the night before, on his mellon.
Shoes-size 3 Barbie brown boots
Shirt-brown shirt, possibly taken from Manny, one of the hunters.
Underwear-pink thong, as seen by Maggie when climbing in vehcie, mold on left cheek of buttocks. Tattoo on right cheek of "Tonights the Night" Picture enclosed is from estranged wife, before tanning. Subject is armed and dangerous, as he took Aspens water gun with him at time of incident. Do not attempt to apprehend, call your local animal control officer.

I took my boots off pretty quick after we got there, thought I ran around in teeny shoes the rest of the night. Look forward to next year were gonna try and have it in March between quail and Turkey Season.

On 6-29-08 officers responded to a theft of a pop up blind at Cool Hands ranch. Upon arrival contact was made with victim, Maggie. Maggie states that she allowed a group of people to use the numerous itmes for a hunt, including pop up blinds. The items were never given to any one person, only to be used for the duration of the hunts. Maggie states she saw a short approx 2'11" hispanic or black male subject around their van. The subject was standing on a ladder, looking inside the van. At approx. 0330 Maggie states she witnessed the subject enter the van, through a rear window. Maggie states she attempted to wake her husband bayourat, to no evail, as he was to intoxicated to move. Maggie states she saw the subject, take the pop up blind and place in a white in color Chev. Z-71. The dwarf or very short subject ran inside the lodge where he hid the remainder of the night. The following morning the white PU with occupants had left the premises. The following is a description of the subject with picture before tanning, and a state wide broadcast has been given to all agencies.
Suspect- Kent Wesley Rivera
Height-2'11'-3'6"
Weight-220 lbs
No hair, has a knot wound from a helicopter accident the night before, on his mellon.
Shoes-size 3 Barbie brown boots
Shirt-brown shirt, possibly taken from Manny, one of the hunters.
Underwear-pink thong, as seen by Maggie when climbing in vehcie, mold on left cheek are of buttocks. Tattoo on right cheek of "Tonights the Night" Picture enclosed is from estranged wife, before tanning. Subject is armed and dangerous, as he took Aspens water gun with him at time of incident. Do not attempt to apprehend, call your local animal control officer.

I had originally planned on participating and real sorry I could not make it. It looks like you guys had a great time, and hopefully instilled the future of the hunt in those kids.
