Hog hunting using Electrical shock
|
|
Hi
I have a friend who has big farms near to the boundry of neighborhood country. Hogs come to his farms as soon as it gets dark, eat, enjoy and destroy everything they find and go to the other side of boundry where they know it is completely safe(no Hunter). because there are few hunters and there are lots of food in that area they are getting increased vey quickly. we go and hunt few of them every week (i.e. two each week) they are very strong and clever. My friend is disgusted with Them because they destroy his crop. I have studied electronics. he asked me to if it is possible to hunt them using electrical shock. Have you ever seen such devices anywhere to help me? what kind of wires do I need, with respect to their power?
any other idea is appreciated! hunting them in that area is completely legal
BTW, I don not live in USA

If you are next door, you only have two options, unless you consider Russia a neighbor of Alaska. So is it Canada or Mexico? I'm more inclined to think Mexico because of the greater hog population?
As stated above, I thought this one was locked down already.
Build Traps, it's your best method and you are not likely to kill yourself in the process.

There is something shady about this one. My guess is it isn't hogs he's after.

I got a PM from him. He advised that its in the middle east. Apparently there is a hog prob there in his country and they are trying to get rid of them. He gave an invite, but I've got my own pig probs at the lease, so I won't be going.....

Some countries in the "middle east" DONT eat hogs/pigs, thats why there is a problem, if there is one. I agree, we have our own probs with them over here.

Heres me setting up a Solar powered Electric Hog zapper.

Nah, its just for cattle, but pigs squeel when they hit it. A farmer tells me he was chasing some and well before they even got to fence they were squeeling as knew the fence but had to go through it to escape.

That picture looks like it could have been taken in West TX. You already have the prickly pear, all you need is a little cholla and mesquites.

ThanX all
Sorry, I was on a trip so I couldn't write. I live in Iran, My friend farm is in Iran and Turkmenistan boundary. I Know this froum is most related to texas hunters but I couldn't find any place better to write here.
1- I should say, I think they are not Hog, and you call it Boar in English. Here a picture of them; http://www.4shared.com/file/52527640/59bedee4/Goraz.html
2- As Brother in-law Said, Muslim do not eat Hog and boars (also wine). Me and my friend can go there just once every week or two week this is why they are increased there (don't worry me and my friends eat both, The farmer don't)
They are very strong and clever, The farm is vey big and he can't put fence all around it.

Re: Hog hunting using Electrical shock

Thanks for getting back to us.
We refer to them as feral hogs for the most part, either way it is basically european wild pigs(boars).
The reason for some of the comments is because the question sounded starnge.
Over here, electricity is used as a deterrent to keep animals out of an area, not as a way to kill them.
Thanks also for clearing up where you are located.
