I don't know anything about ground blinds but I was looking at the BPS Hunting Classic ad and have a question. They advertise an Ameristep Doghouse blind for $49.88(regular $79.99) and also Primos Double Bull blind for $399.99. Both are about the same dimensions. My question is what is the difference between the two? I know enough to tell the differences in quality of things like guns, knives, vehicles, TVs etc, but I want to know what makes approximately $350.00 difference in these two blinds. Just trying to learn something new. Thanks for any input. |

thickness of material and bells and whistles. I have a doghouse and it is "entry level" at best. You get what you are paying for. If you plan to take it out and place it for each hunt you might do ok with the doghouse. I haven't seen the Primos but have seen a Double Bull. They are much better built and could withstand more weathering if left out a little bit. my .02 |

The cheaper ones wont make one year left out. Mine is so dry rotted that it is pulling apart, and I only used it last year. |

I have the larger Ameristep blind and I wouldn't give $10 for another one. The better ones are worth the money. You don't need one of the $300 models but the $100 to $200 will do what you need. |

I've tried quite a few different ground blinds, both cheap and the stupidly expensive double bull/now primos. My main issue with all of them is size, along with carrying bags being poorly designed, bad windows. I could go on and on. I have found a blind that I'm very impressed with in every aspect. It's very reasonably priced as well. They have different models but this is the one I use, I think I'm going to buy one of the desert camo ones. http://getyukontracks.com/foundations/store_getYukon/shopdetail.asp?params=AV169*93 No ground blind will stand up being left out all year. If you take care of it, it will take care of you! |

Like you, I don't know anything about blinds and based on a friends recommendation, I purchased a $49 blind from Sportsmans Guide. The blind came in today and i pop-it open in the living room. Just a few things I noticed:
Besides the issues listed, everything else is fine. It's my first deer hunting season so i decided to go the affordable way. |
