After you buy a, or a couple, full coverage reloading manuals and think you have the basics down, & have shot a little of at least one of the calibers - pick one to learn on & I'd prolly use the 30'06 to start with - then go buy a One Caliber book that lists all the loadings from all the mfg'ers in a single caliber for a Cliff's Notes version of that calibers range of different loads by mfg'er or brand of powder. FYI I have had good success with the rcc'd Sierra loads as shown in several calibers, and their bullets are pretty accurate too with about as good as it gets non premium bullet performance on game. I also have been pleased with Speer, Nosler & Hornady brand bullets for over 40 years. FYI you sometimes can buy "blems" out of the Nosler online 2nds store at some really good prices. Saw some 270 150 gr Partitions last week at about $10+ a bag of 50 but it is never a for sure thing that they have a given caliber, bullet style or bullet weight in stock...and I buy several hunnert or more when I find a bullet I want either on a sale or just at the "regular" blem price and am planning a "project" that fits that need. Some good advice Wiley. I say just take it slow and do alot of reading before you start. When I started I took it slow did lots of reading and then after I had made my first batch of bullets Took them to my uncle who is an experienced reloader, told him what I had done and what I had put in them, he said sounds good and I went to the range and never looked back, although pullin the triger on the first one made me sweat a little.

Sweet I just won 7mm and 30-06 dies on ebay. they were local so no shipping 20.00 for BOTH (rcbs). Actually i have been loading for a year. I am just starting these loads. I was wondering if yall had a recipe you like in those calibers.

I currently reload for the -06, 7MM Mag, 30-30, & 270. What I have learned is that the 270/-06 are the easiest to reload for. Lots of recipes to be found, plus these calibers seem to be easier on the brass than the 7Mag. My 7 mag requires partial full length re-sizing every time I reload them. My 270, -06, and 30-30 only need neck sizing for at least 5 reloads.
When you first start re-loading for the 7 mag, after re-sizing the brass-and BEFORE adding powder and bullet-check to make sure that your re-sized brass will fit the chamber, and that the bolt will close. I found out the hard way after loading some brass that several needed to have the shoulder pushed back further than my dies were set up for. It's lots of fun pulling bullets to re-size brass. Not to mention attempting to work primed brass is dangerous! I was afraid to try and press the primer out for fear of one going off so I sprayed them with WD-40 and let them soak, then pressed them out, and then re-worked my brass.

JKoenig, If you are still following this thread here's what I found to be best in my rifles.
30/30 - Winchester 748 with the Speer 150 grain FN.
30-06 - IMR 4064 with almost any 150 grain bullet. My favorite is the 150 Nosler Partitioned or 150 Sierra Pro Hunter.
7MM Remington Magnum - R-22 with 160 grain Nosler Partition. In my tang safety Ruger 77, that bullet at about 2865 fps MV will group sub 1" at 100 yards. I'm sure there are newer powders that will give more velocity but these bullet and powder combinations have worked good for me over the years.

I usually have to trim 7 out of every 10 cases when reloading 7 mag. If you load max charge you most likely will have to trim all cases.
