I'm with a777pilot on this one. I know there are "flag rules of etiquette" and think most people have no clue that they exist. I would rather see the flag flown 24/7, and not be illuminated at night, than live where it can't/won't be flown. On the other hand, I hate to see the flag disgraced by someone flying one that looks like it's been through a war. There is a guy down the road from me that has a nice flag pole in front of his house which sets a good 100yds off of the road. Most days he has a flag flying, but it looks like he gets them from a stack of flags that have been retired. I can't remember ever seeing one that looks like it was put up new! |
