The safest bet is to get it fed as soon as possible. Even protein, in bulk, isn't too good any more after about 90 days. Weevils, or their eggs can be in the stuff you buy from the dealer, the longer you hold on to it, the more they will hatch. And yes you will end up with powder.

Alfa toxin can be tough on deer, but it is devastating on quial. It doesn't take very high levels or very much to kill quail.

Times are tough and prices are high, but please don't be "pound wise and penny foolish".

On supplementing there are very few corners you can cut.
