Chet, Based on what you said I would believe the kennel will make good on the pup with a future pick of the litter or another out of this litter. I hope she make it. How old is she. Parvo lives everywhere, especially in town and parks and roadside parks. It is critical to follow the vacanation schedule since the mother in most cases is immune and the pups carry the antibodies for a while and the vaccine does not work until they are gone. That is what I have been told by my vet. Send me a pm with a phone number and I will give you a call.

I lost 3 out of 4 pups last year to parvo. They all started coming down the day after they got their 2nd vacation for parvo at 8 weeks of age. The 4th pup never showed signs. What I was told is that at 5-6 weeks of age 25% of the pups will get immunity with the 1st shot. The next shot at 8 weeks 25% more will get imunity. This is why there is such a long series of shots. You are fighting against the mother's anti-bodies to get the pups their own. It seems that the best pups are the ones that get sick. The other litter that was born 3 weeks after the first we did not lose a one. We did not let any go home til they were 12 weeks old and they did not get on the ground until they were 10 weeks old. It is hard on people like you Chet and really hard on the good breeders. My wife normally takes care of the puppies, but she laid down the law this year and said no puppies she could not handle losing them again. Just my 2 cents.
