Took my Blackbuck in droped it off, Taxidermist says 7 months....Ok great. 7 mo. go by... I give him a call, he says should be done in 3 weeks...ok great , 4 weeks go by I call him, he says should be done in 3 weeks ....oooooooK , 3 more weeks go by and I call him and he says well the form should be here tomorrow and he should have it done in 2.5 - 3 weeks ........
so...If I gave my customers this kinda lip service I would be fired in a week...why do we as hunters allow taxidermist to get away w/ it?
I have kept my cool with him b/c I want him to do a good job but...this 3 week story is getting old...
all you taxidermist out there help me understand....

There's no need to talk about me or my inability to deliver your mount when the resources that I depend on are failing. I have your mount on my table right now, and as I promised it's done and also looks great. But for the attacks about the validity of my delays, I feel the only option is for you to come by and pick up your mount......IN 3 WEEKS! Understand?

Don't know why everyone is getting upset w/ me, i told him 3 weeks what's not to understand. It may not be next 3 weeks, or the next but quite possible it could be the next.
I value your business and hope to continue with you in the future.

If you gave what customers that kind of service? Hes a Taxidermist, its not wally world. And you put up with it because he has a tallent you do not posses, nor do you have the desire to attain, so, shoosh, and wait. Sk

no sir, that is were you are wrong...I will wait as long as it takes and I'm sure the work will be great, but why did he not say "hey it going to be about 3 more months"....my reply would have been "great talk to you in December"....I don't get all the dis-honesty....just tell us the truth....
I'm sure these things are hard to predict but....being off by 9 weeks is a little long

A close family friend in Missouri is my taxidermist of choice for bucks killed there. They do face challenges on forms and other supplies at times especially for non-standard ones. Whitetail forms tend to be easier as everyone kills and mounts them. The difference between motorcycle or boat motor parts vs. parts for your Chevy. Same principal. Stay calm. He is in control anyway.

Some taxidermists also fish and it's high school football season, nearly dove season, then bow season, then gun season........and their priorities may change as the year progresses, then next thing you know, they start getting more stuff to mount and they havent' finished last year's stuff.... I'm not saying, I'm just saying......

BS...if he gives you a 3 week deadline then so be it..,9 weeks missing is crap..His living is taxidermy and meet your deadlines...Priority is work not watching high school football..when I book a catering job,I make sure my hobbies do not interfere,,does no good showing up with food 9 weeks late...If you overload yourself with animals you are just doing yourself a injustice with your go to clients..

Please learne Taxidermy, and apply your expert business skills, then write a book so we can all know as much as you do. Problem solved, a new world order, and it all started with catering. Whoda thunk it. Skinner

I agree, don't tell me a time and keep changing it. I would have went over and got my mount and went somewhere else. And if he would not give it to me it would cost him more. I have my ways. Don't lie to me, if you can't get it by the date you told me it is your responsiblity to call me and explain why. In my job I would be fired it I didn't get the work done when I said it would be done. I expect the same from people I deal with.

Maybe thats why you are out of business and Im still in it..give a date and stick with it...You think of making the ole mighty dollar instead of customer satisfaction..Happy customers come back, disgruntled ones got to the forum and post about people like you and your empty promises...I see you are into burgular alarms, well if you dont keep your appointments would people come back to you..I know one I wouldnt refer business too now..Its not a new world order..Its giving people what they asked for, when you PROMISED it to them..I chose not to learn taxidermy for a reason..I have a skill and practice it very well..let me know if I could cook you something, and It would be ON TIME...Then you would know what its like to be a happy customer, and not feelings like the ones you jacked around...

I got outa the busines cuz i love to hunt and fish, and could do neither as much as i wanted to for taking in as much busines as i could while the season was open. I started tickin people off, so i made a hard, honest desision to walk away from something i loved and was good at, while i still had a good name, and nobody was gunning for me, and went to work for someone else where i get time off to do the things i love, without putting my livelyhood in jeperdy. Helomech, dude i meant no dispespect, smackdown deserved and taken. Skinner

I didn't mean to come acrosss like you may have taken it. But my biggest pet peeve is being on schedule. If someone can't get something to me when they told me they would I at least expect a phone call. I would rather someone tell me they can't except my business at the time, or tell me they will take it but can't promise a set date for completion. At least then I know where I stand.

he has my BB as well....he told me he had boiled your horns the day i took mine in and that was 6 months ago. he told me 10-12 months. hope the wait is worth it.
i dont tell my customers i am gonna be there if i aint. i do call them and tell em i am running late or am not gonna make it. 90% are fine with it and say "thanks for the call" there are 10% that get upset though. some poeple dont like confrontation of sayin "its gonna be alot longer than i thought". i think he is ona them.
