Just curious, how much business do you expect to get from Texas, being that you are in Illinois? Is it common to ship dead animals for taxidermy work?

I do mounts from all over. Colorado, Cananda and even once done a bear from Alaska.

But are the mounts from other states for people that live in your area. Honestly I am not trying to start controversy, just curious. I guess what I am asking is if I kill a deer in Texas, why would I ship it to Illinois? I have checked out you website and your stuff looks real good. Please fill me in.

The reason you would send it to me is: You would get a high quality mount at a fair price. I advertise on the web quite a bit and thats how I get the out of state mounts.
BowHuntin you would need to cape it out and freeze sold and send to me along with the skull plate, or if you want to pay extra shipping just freeze whole and send to me next day ups. I will do my thing and send the finished mount back. Sometimes I meet the customer half way and pick up and drop off the finished mounts,

Taxi work up north is a lot cheaper overall. Just make sure they are not doing the same crap their grampy did. Not referring to our THF brother from Illinois BTW! A lot of folks ship their animals to good taxi's up north. To be honest, some of the crap that has happened on here the last couple years with taxi's...I'll take Ol' boy from Illinois before I will some of the jokers around here!!!!

Not trying to be a butt. By the time you pay shipping two ways. You would be able to go to just about any taxidermist you wanted local. $275 is a great price. Shipping will eat you up if you are not careful. You also are taking the risk of damageing your hide shipping it. If it gets lost in the mail or not delivered on time. JMO

I would like to clarify something, This post was intended for wholesale work from taxidermist in texas that may be to busy and need to outsource some mounts. Not that I would not do a mount for an indiviual if they wanted to pay the shipping.

you can ship with greyhound and it cost only about 40 bucks and shipping your stuff up there by mail would be about 15-20. I bet you could get your total 2 way shipping for less than 75-80 bucks.
