Wish we even had half way decent Mexican food around here.
The best place I ever had Mexican food was Albuquerque, NM in the Old Towne section. It was called 'Little Anitas'

Just south of the dam past Gaston.

There are too many so just throwing out one I like that I have never seen on here.

A very affordable and good one is in Richardson called Amigos on Main/Beltline between Greenville and Glenville.

Campuzano's in Cedar Hill. Try the Shrimp Nachos and you get a Margarita for free.

I love "real" Mexican food, but I have to say, just about the worst I ever had was a place just across the border from Brownsville. It was REALLY bad.

One of the best places I have eaten was a little hole in the wall diner about 8 miles before you get to Harlingen. Can't remember the name of the place or the exit it was on, but I will stop there again on the next trip.

Seems like it is always the hole in the wall places that are the best.

I like a couple of little spots on Randol Mill Road in Arlington:

Juan Jalapeno's, just west of Fielder. $3.99 taco plate on Tuesdays, and it's excellent. $4.50 lunch specials weekdays. Homemade chips & salsa. Really good and cheap.

Los Jarros, just east of Cooper. A little crazy during lunch rush, but excellent food and also very cheap. They get a real mix of clientele--hospital workers, laborers, older Anglos, firemen.

Check 'em out.
