I recently picked up an old Remington Model 48 Sportsman that was in pretty good condition. There a bit before my time, so I don't know too much about them. Anyone have any comments, good or bad on them? I'm also looking for a modified barrel for one if anyone happens to have one and wants to get rid of it.

I have an old Remington 11-48 in .16 gauge that was my Grandfathers gun. It has a full choked barrel on it. I use it every year to turkey hunt. 11-48's are great workhorse shotguns. They are recoil operated like the browning A-5's as opposed to gas operated like the 1100's and 11-87's so they to tend to kick a lot more. Mine has never failed to go bang when I pull the trigger! They are well made American guns! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
