Camping with the Kids
      #454720 - 07/06/08 10:01 AM

Ok, seems that little man decided he wanted to camp out with his older sister and Daddy. This was attempted with Papa in my absence, with issues, the little guy didn't want to sleep out in the tent...

So we decided to give it a try run in the backyard, before taking it out to the lake...I picked up some "army" chow..read MREs and off we went with snacks and smore making stuff....

It was a great outing with limited visits to the house..I think dude is ready for the real thing now, not sure who had more fun

The setup

Our "campsite"

Scored the tuna

Hmmm, pork rib

MRE Chocolate milkshake

Smores

We survived the night

I remember those kind of back yard campouts when I was a kid! One night I had a few freinds over and one of the lanterns got knocked over and set the tent on fire! I had to put it out with the waterhose!

We used flash lights from then on!!

MRE's have improved...sent some home to my little Brother and Mom thought the food looked dried out and bad. Explained that's the way it's supposed to look! I have a lot of fond memories of backyard campouts. Great picks!.

LOL, it wasn't MY idea, trust me...but yes, they have improved tremendously...shoot, the tuna my daughter had was what you'd buy off the shelf at wal-mart
