Just wondering how all of your 4th went. Ours went great. The food was excellent. I cooked kabobs, chicken, sausage, and stuffed jalapenos. Later that night we went to the Farm and poped our Fire Works. I even whooped the oldest Daughter at some horseshoes hehe. Getting the pit ready in this pic.
 Heres some good eatin hehe

Looks like a tasty time. Spent my 4th stuck here at work. Not many pops going off on the south side of Austin.

Well, I'm still on 7 days - but I got off early yesterday and took the wife and kids over to the kinfolks for a fish-fry. I think I'll take off early today again - felt good...
I got some backstrap that sure would look good on that smoker and it'll probably taste good, too.

Cool Hand I would give my eye teeth to have me a smoker like that. I sure like it. Did you build it yourself?

Good. Took the kiddos out to the country to visit the grandparents. Got to take a walk in the woods, where we saw Rabbits, Squirrls, and all kind of birds.
Last night there uncle put on a fireworks display, which I appreciated, cause I got to sit and relax for a change.
Hope everybody had a great 4th!

Well in a way I did!! I dug up an old butane tank on our place (150 gal.) and my B-I-Law has a guy thats worked for him for 35 years on his ranch that does a lot of welding and he did it. All I had to do was buy the materials which costs about $300.00 and I already had the small narrow trailer and "Pete" put it all together to my specs. Total cost was $525.00. Works well!! I couldn't have had it made anywhere else for that. I'm very fortunate!
I had been like you for many years in wanting one but could never afford one like I wanted. This was a dream come true for me.

I love my Smoker. It was given to me by the Widow of my former Neighbor. We have a great rub at our Grocery store and I love to season the briskets with it and garlic and put it in the oven for 4 hours and then put it on the smoker for 8 hours. comes out tender and very tasty every time. I baste it with the juice from when I cooked it in the oven. Darn I got to go get some leftovers. I just made myself hungry lol.
