PANHANDLE YOUTH DOE HUNT
      #444210 - 06/19/08 09:58 AM

I have about 3000 acres with lots of deer and I'm wanting to thin out the does as much as possible. I would prefer kids on the youth weekend of Oct 25-26 it's in Wheeler county and you are allowed 2 does.
How much? I don't know how about corn, game cams or $$$ or anything else that we can think of. It will be fun and they will get some does and if they see a hog they can shoot it also.
Thanks

They are out of San Angelo. We are doing a hog hunt with Cool Hand next week. This would set these boys on fire if they could get a doe. JR was on, maybe he will see this. Hope this can be worked out

Even with the price of corn & such a good doe hunt(UP THERE) should be around $175-$200 for 1 doe w/ extra doe $100 each. On 3000 acres should be some GREAT results.

They aren't his boys, they are in a group home, or something like that. He likes to help them as much as he can.

Ok 7 mag I think I know what type of home you're talking about.
I started to just charge $$$$ but this might be a better way to do it for kids. I will still take $$$ but I will swap for anything fun, ha.

Yancey, J.R. Robinson, here. I was raised at West Texas Boys Ranch, a home for boys from broken homes. I graduated from the Ranch and High School in '88. As you may have seen at the top of the "Open Discussion" section, I (and several selfless volunteers from THF) are taking 8 of the 40-something boys that live on the Ranch on a hog hunt this next weekend. Would LOVE to have you join us & be a part, Man! Friday's going to be drinks, guitars, poker, and endless judging by this group .

I'm doing this because I used to just write a check to Boys Ranch each year, but decided to do something more fun for me, for anyone that wants to get involved, and for the Boys. A man from Coleman name Wayne McClure used to put on a doe hunt for @ 20 boys each year, and those hunts were something I looked forward to all year long. He touched several lives with his kindness, and motivated me to do the same. That's why I started this hunt thing this year.

If you want a doe population thinned out, Sir, I promise you there's no more rewarding way to do it than to have a bunch of wide-eyed Boys Ranchers come take part in such. If this is something you would like to look into, just let me know & I'll do all I can (and I know THF-ers will, too) to make it happen!

Hope to talk to you soon. If you want, PM me and I'll provide my cell # (I'm in Flordia until Wednesday, but would love to talk) and we can touch base.

Bless you for even considering it, Sir!

J.R.

WHYB05 I appreciate the help because if they come I will need it. Also you guys who are watching this post. I talked to 2 more ranchers today and I will be able to do some more doe hunts on those places as well. I should have plenty of room for those kids from that home now.

Guys,
I talked to JR yesterday and the boys from the home in West Texas will not be able to come out and shoot some does the youth season in Oct. With gas prices being high it's just to far. So if anyone out there has some kids that want to shoot some does let me know and we will work something out.
Thanks, YB
