I said in another post that I thought any discussions of faith/theology/religion should be left in Off Topics.
I believe these types of discussions in "off topic" might reach someone who was just browsing and found something of benefit while checking out the other posts on the board.
If this topic was confined to its own section many would avoid it and any opportunity to reach them would be lost. If you confine these discussions to a section and label it "religion" then it would immediately turn off anyone to whom religion had any kind of negative connotation. It would in effect be just like the church on the corner.
They would just pass right by and never know what was going on inside.
I occasionally read posts in the open hunting or other forums that address a subject that has little interest to me and which, if posted in its own section, I would never visit.
As I said before, I haven't bought a gun dog or a bow, but I do know more about those topics and certainly am not any worse off for the increased knowledge.

I voted no, ralph makes good points all around.
Also I don't think there would be enough actual content to justify a new forum. It's been relatively calm so far, why change?
Thanks for taking the time to make the poll. God bless, PK

I DON'T REALLY THINK IT SHOULD BE A TOPIC ON THF... WHY NOT GO START A CHF OR TCHF
I DON'T GO TO ANY RELIGIOUS FORUMS AND POST ABOUT HUNTING, I GUESS I COULD BUT IMO IT DOESN'T PRETAIN TO THE TOPIC.
DON'T GET ME WRONG, (AND I'M SURE A LOT OF YOU HAVE) I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINT YOU MENTIONING GOD IN A HUNTING POST, I JUST DON'T FEEL WE NEED SERMONS OR DAILY DEVOTIONALS.
EVEN THOSE ARE OK AS LONG AS I AM ALLOWED TO POST AN OPPOSING POINT OF VIEW.

Just didn't see how that fits into this Poll, I have no trouble or problem with "One Nation Under God". I'm one that has paid the price to keep it the way.

You paid the price to keep this one nation under God??? You might have paid the price for freedom but according to some of your other posts you ain't leanin' toward God as I see it. Just an observation and an opinion if you please.

If you want to talk hunting, you go to THF. If you want to talk fishing, you go to TFF. If you want to talk Ford trucks, you go to a Ford truck forum. If you want to talk Jeeps, you go to a Jeep forum. If you want to discuss gunsmithing, you go to a gunsmithing forum.
If you want to talk religion, why don't you go to a religion forum? Lord knows (pun intended) there are probably quite a few to choose from.

If folks are interested, they can go to Religion Section.

This conundrum reminds me of a book I read years ago. In the book, set in turn of the century west, once a week the town athiest would have a game of checkers with the methodist preacher. Town folk would gather at the general store where the game was held just to listen to the debate that took place between the two men.
Although I like to jump in on threads concerning faith matters, I also enjoy the debate that is produced from differing points of view. Christians need to be challenged in their walk and others may have questions or beefs that they need to get off their chest. Should we have a religion only section I think the thread would go something like this.....
Jesus loves you.
Yes he does.
God bless America
Jesus loves you
Church was great
Yes it was

This is the Off Topic (as in not hunting) section of a hunting forum. It's also not a cell phone site, yet there have been posts about cell phone coverage. It's not a cable/satelite service site, yet there have been such posts. It's not a weather site, yet.... I think you get where I'm going with this. Folks that want nothing but topics about hunting have scrolled down too far.
And again, the threads are titled. It is clear what they are about so we can choose what subjects we want to read.
