Common Grackle Hunts
      #445007 - 06/20/08 10:43 AM

I have 2 different hunts available for mature trophy grackle.

1.$150 night hunt in the parking lot of a local grocery store in Temple, Tx. If it is slow, we will move over to the mall parking lot. I can handle 3 shooters at once. We will want to cover a broad range as they fly in by the thousands. Mature birds only!

2.$200 night hunt inside of a local grocery store. I have access to several stores in the area. This is a harder hunt as there may only be 1 bird inside the store at a time. Usually this bird will score extremely high on the B&C scoring system. It will be an extremely exhausting hunt as we will stalk it through the wareroom areas, over to the dairy section, on to the bakery. Hopefully we will take him in the bakery but if not we will then move into the deli, followed by general merchandise, and then on to the pharmacy. If we are unsuccesful and the hunter is willing we will make the same track again. I can only accomodate 1 hunter on these hunts.

I am looking for an experienced cameraman for these hunts.

I also need a VERY EXPERIENCED grackle caller. I would like someone who has won a few grackle calling world titles.

Please PM me if you are interested.

No charge over in Austin, just come on over, hunt anywhere downtown in the restaurant district. You get extra bonuses for getting them before they defecate any of the parked cars.

Oh, they may only be taken once they have all settled in the trees for the night...we want to take advantage of all that can be taken with least amount of shots.

Note: Please contact the Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff's office prior to make reservations for hunting areas and prime locations.

kyotee, you should charge for the hunts. As exciting as they are to hunt, they could become the next "feral hog"

The nastiest Krogers on earth in Farmers Branch host some fine sparrow, Grackel, and pigeon hunts!

P.S.
Best hunting is by the produce!

I would only want a B&C trophy Grackle!!! Is there any kind of special equipment I might need for them?

Well, for the hunts indoors, a pellet rifle will be great. Outdoors, any shotgun. If you are a real badas$, then bring your bow for a little more excitment

the other weekend, while playing golf, i had witnessed one hell of a struggle. a large male grackle had some sort of water bird pinned on the ground and was pecking its eyes and trying to crush its head. the water bird, which was the larger of the 2, was just squawking very loudly and trying to get free. when i drove by them the grackle finally backed off and the water bird barely got away (went into the nearby pond - was almost dead). that was the darndest thing i have ever seen.

Who wants to hunt common grackles? Boat-Tailed grackles are much more fun!
