Any body know of a vet that will do a stomach scope or probe in the DFW area?

Dr Edward (Ed) Aycock, DVM Lewisville North Animal Clinic 972-436-5571, he comes highly recommended as a gun dog vet, I use him for second opinions and annual snake vaccine/check ups…

Not block yet. Plastic bumper- being that its plastic it doesn't show real well on the xrays. I could wait and let nature play its coarse and pray he just throws the rest of it up. I was thinking it may be better to just bite the bullet and let them scope his stomach instead of waiting and having surgery if he does get a blockage.

Have you talked to a Vet. I would go with what ever your vet says.

If he chewed it up & its in small enough parts, he should just pass it or gag it back up. Sometimes they can make him upchuck it all or they can scope & pull it out.

He is at the vet right now, vet said (You can give it time or have a probe)... I'm thinking if he doesn't throw up the last few peices today, I'll get him scoped tomorrow

Oh ok, he is AT the vet...might go for the probe, cause IF you give him time, he will pass it but it might cause a blockage or something.

give him 2 tablespoons of Hydrogen Peroxide and put him outside. That will make him throw up, and I caution you not to let him back in until he finishes throwing up... he might 3 or 4 times.
you will have to spoon it down his throat, hold his mouth shut and stroke his neck until he swallows.
... that sounded like a bad girlfriend joke, huh?...

I don't know that a scope is best. Ultrasound would be better. Veterinary Radiologist could see any thing in the stomach. I am not a vet, just the son of a vet. Just food for thought.

Hope all goes well REGARDLESS. Update when you can. Most people dont realize that threads like this can help others with situations like this & others. Might just make a diffrence.

This place is open 24 hours and can do almost anything. They have all the equipment there.

They treated my dog with a rare blood disorder a couple of years back.
I would try the peroxide first though.
