We just got back from Colorado and Izzy and I climbed the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mt. Elbert. Mt. Elbert is 14,433 feet tall. The elevation gain is 4700 feet from the north trail head. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

Above the treeline on Mt. Elbert.
Still going up!
I had to put on more clothes because it was getting cold up there.
Basically there.
Summit of Mt. Elbert.
It took me 5 hours to get to the top and 3 hours to get down. That isn't too bad for a flatlander that just had a knee rebuilt.

Cool.
I like how you needed an extra layer, yet Izzy wore the same thing up and back.

I am a wimp. She had 100% of her energy the entire time. I barely made it.

I bet Izzy was tired from pulling and pushing and draging.

Stinkbelly, Sent you an email. Check your spam folder if it does not show. I may do a Ptarmigan hunt very near there. Got a couple questions. Thanks, John

Hey stinkbelly, we are archery elk hunting at the base of Elbert the second week of September. Did you see many elk during your climb? Great pictures!

We saw only one herd of elk(~50). They were off of county road 300 and Half Moon Creek Rd in the fishing club land (private land). I didn't see any fresh sign anywhere I hiked or fished. Good Luck.
John, I emailed you back.
