From what I've seen it is pretty accurate for Val Verde county. Many of the ranches I feed have around 20 deer per square mile, some more, some less.

Overall, for information purposes, IMO, QDMA has their act pretty much together.

It's historically accurate for our part of the world (Jones, Haskell, Fisher, Stonewall). However, our deer populations are increasing at a pretty rapid pace. THANK GOD!

For some areas, yes, but look at the very bottom of the state. Cameron County is way wrong, Willacy, Kennedy, all wrong. As for San Antone, Austin, look about right. Freer area is wrong. I may be wrong too, but I grew up traveling and hunting that area quite a bit. Some are right, but in my opinion, some are way off. Just my dumb arse 2 cents.

Scheicher county is accurate I have been told similar by the extention agent. They told me more like 10 deer per 100 acres. It is so brushy though you never see them like that unless its on a game cam or helo.

It says 15 to 30 deer per square mile on my place in Montague County. Certainly doesn't seem right.

I can't wait to get out of Kalifornia.
Even though it shows nothing in my state, I took a doe, my cousin took a doe and his son took a buck this year in the Eastern Sierras about 1.5 hours south of Lake Tahoe. My cousins son also got drawn for elk and took a nice cow. I'll be eating elk backstrap, drinking some cold ones and watching football tonight.

I wish this darn house would sell.
