My soil is pretty sandy, and wheat and oats did real good.

I planted a mixture of Iron/Clays and black oil sunflower this spring, plot came up good, but no rain since June has been tough. Deer ate the sunflowers down to the dirt, they are grazing thru the iron/clays. Saturday AM there were 10 head on plot 6 bucks, 2 does and one fawn. Have corn feeder and protein feeder within 20 yards of plot. Game camera pics show deer in food plot and very little activity around either feeder.

I know where 7 is, but I don't get out much. When I am not working I have to be dragged away from my house. Been here 2 years, and I bet I hadn't been to town 40 times.

yeah I used whitetail institutes "no plow" last season. It came up nicely. Of coarse we had plenty of rain last season though.

No Plow by Imperial Whitetail is the way to go. Minimal soil prep, seed and feed and BAM, the buck stop here !

Out by Athens in Henderson County. It's a new place for me and I was surprised at how sandy the soil is out there.

We have a place not to far from you and we have had great luck with Austrian Winter Peas. They only need to be 1/4 inch or so deep, so you can just run a harrow drag over an area and broadcast them. A little fertilizer does wonders, but they do fairly well with just a little rain. You'll be amazed at the amount of food they produce. Of course, not having cows is a big part of that.
