I'll be heading to Ft Stockton on Dec 1 for 5 days. I'll let you hunt vicariously. I plan to update each morning and evening with pics of the ranch and game. Good luck with the baby.

Nice buck. Do I count 9 point? Great width on the rack and the body. I bet he's happy after getting him out of the canyon.

Yup 9. He's not a monster in regards to that place but he's a nice deer. Pretty much the barrometer that tells you shoot or no shoot is whether or not you are willing to spend 4 hours hauling out of the hole.

Ya definitely a decision. I have been scouting leases in the panhandle this years. Childress and Donley to be more specific. Hopefully we can find a nice place and stay there for the long term.

drove right into them this morning while going to my stand and didn't even have my rifle loaded bang They were way further south than usual I seen a pickup driving around south of our place and I guess that's what drove them down. This afternoon I heard a shot over there so I guess they got one so they never really showed for me. Maybe they're done now with their pickup hunting and they'll start settling down so maybe I can get the one I've been eyeing clap

Good luck with it. Maybe tomorrow morning you'll have some pics to post.

I love the pic in your signature. Did you photoshop it or find it on line?

Howdy,

Just found this site.

I'm curious where you guys are hunting mule deer?

We are in Northern Jeff Davis county near Balmorhea. We saw and passed some nice bucks last week and will go back 12.15-21 for another hunt.

Good luck to everyone.

I'll be 28 miles east and north of ft Stockton this year. My buddy's lease is in sanderson. He'll be about 55 miles away from me. Can't wait.

God I wish we'd have mule deer in Williamson county. Being a taxidermist I can't leave during deer season and I think mule deer hunting would be a blast (no pun intended).I live the hunts through my hunters when they bring them in to get mounted. Good luck to all of you who are lucky enough to go muley hunting and congrats to the ones who bagged a buck.
