Noooo! They’ll pick up the wife in the morning, and I’ll be on my own (hopefully) to go to Scheels. I am not the designated driver.

I asked the wife if they would dress shop all day even if they found a great dress early. Not a chance they’d quit early. It’ll be an all day deal, after which we go to Pappadeaux and I buy for 8 hungry folk. My wallet is not as free from damage as I had thought.

Just got to the hotel after a slow drive through Dallas on a rainy Friday. Such fun..

The dress has been selected and purchased. It is a gorgeous dress on a beautiful young woman. All that’s left is for me to spend a small fortune at Pappadeaux.

This is a huge victory and likely less than what you would’ve spent at Caligulas in your glory days. Be thankful!

The meal wasn’t as expensive as I expected, though it wasn’t cheap. Good food and they make a good Bloody Mary. All the bride-to-be’s cute young lady friends were there, so the scenery was good. Great gals.

The women said they had a great time. Lots of champagne. Most were slightly drunk when they showed up at Pappadeaux and then got drunker.

I got no grief over my new pistol when I mentioned the cost of it was about 1 1/2 times the cost of ONE of her trips to the beauty shop. I don’t think I was supposed to know how much those cost.

The only problem that showed up was that the SiL was supposed to put their dogs in their house kennel while we were at Scheels. He forgot, and one of the dogs got into the shoe closet (yes, my daughter has a closet just for shoes…a huge amount of them). The younger dog picked out a very expensive and favorite shoe and chewed it into oblivion.

I laughed, the SiL looked for a place to hide, and the daughter howled. There was a line of shoes from the front door to the shoe closet, but apparently only the one was destroyed.

I can see being excited about wedding dress shopping i guess, but this thread totally gets my goat too cause my friends all love shopping and i generically hate it. would much rather be at bass lol

15 (almost 16), love to hunt with my aunt and uncle, shop with my mom, and watch college football with my dad. Don't have a lot of girls to talk hunting with at school (haha) so I joined this forum smile

Well, when you finally select the right young man (men pursue, women choose), I think the idea of wedding dress shopping will be more attractive to you. And you simply can not deny your girl friends the chance to participate. This appears to be a team effort that includes all the girls and women in your family and circle of friends, and adult beverages.

After the wedding, the husband training needs to start. As my beloved Grandma once said, “a good husband is a well trained husband”. She also said that training a husband is much like training a dog. Ask them to perform small tasks and then shower them with affection when they do them. They will, in time, associate happiness with making you pleased. And dog treats (chocolate chip cookies) will help in the training. Just don’t let them know they are being trained.
