Attachment would work the best to eradicate those dang cedar trees. We're going to rent a skid steer with our choice of attachment and need to clear about 300 or so cedars. I appreciate any information as I know a number of y'all have experience in this area.

Depends on the tree size. If they are not too big, the funny fork thing you jab in the ground and pull them up by the roots is very effetrive.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

Soft ground from some fairly recent good rain is the most important aspect that I have found. YouTube has some pretty good videos on how to use a stump bucket.

I’d personally go mini x for getting the trees out, then a skid steer with root rake/grapple for brush piles.

This is what I was thinking if could spend a little more money on rental.....75-80 hp with thumb should do it for cedars....

Out of curiosity, what’s the downside of renting a cat with a blade on the front that has the crazy looking ripper teeth on the bottom. I see them grubbing mesquite fields around here. The OP is going to need something to push all the mess into brush piles also.

mulcher, watched a big one here eat a large oak in about 30 seconds, benefit is the mulch it leaves. no piling, no burning, no screwin round with clean up. go to the 26 min. mark

He's the guy to pay attention to.
