Well after a few unsuccessful hunts I was able to harvest a great buck on Friday just before sunset. This big buck favored food plots and the bulk feeders and stayed away from the corn feeder. He slipped into the corner of a plot of wheat and some peas and I was able to take him at 118 yards with one shot of the 25/06 with 117grain Hornady Superformance. He pushed into the think woods about 15 yds and went down quickly. He scored 170" and weighed in at 195 lbs. The deer was 5.5 years old. We are a 1000 acre high fence MLD property in NE Texas.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Awesome buck!

I am hoping to spill some blood with my new 25-06 shooting the same 117gr Hornaday superperformance bullets this year. Glad to see the bullet is up to the task!
