Stubborness.
I hunt with Mil/Mil scopes. Object is hitting vitals, not hitting the animal somewhere on the body. That is an assinine statement. To even imply I don't shoot to hit the vitals.
Talent is a gift, character is a decision.

Been talking to some local guys and getting mixed reviews. Is there anywhere that I can find out what scopes will handle recoil wise? Talked to a guy today that told me that any burris, Nikon monarch, leupold, and more or less any higher end scope would be fine. He wouldn't do anything from redfield lower end Nikon or several others.

Some manufacturers rate theirs. Like SWFA.com shows theirs will handle 50 BMG. I've not dug too deep on this issue since the Bushnell Elite, Vortex Viper PST, and SS I use are nice emough scopes with very good warranties that I didn't worry about it.

Warranty is a big deal so if it doesn't have a good backing I don't even want to consider it.

I like the vortex viper PST line myself but would not ever get the 2.5-10x42 model as there is no parallax adjustment and I think that is something that must be included on any scope when shooting at longer ranges.

Ok I have rings for both 30 mm and 1" what's the better route to go there. I'd like to use the 30 mm since they are a lot nicer.

Most of the scopes you are considering have 1" tubes. The PST is 30mm.

That's what I'm finding the 30 mm is where price starts jumping up. Looked at a better set of rings for the 1" but didn't realize they would be about 150 so either way I'm gonna spend it.
