I bought one of the Alpha Dogg varmint callers a couple of months ago. Weather was hot and I was lazy, so I didn't use it but a couple of times and couldn't find a coyote. This morning my eyes snapped open at 5:30 and I jumped out of bed, grabbed all my stuff from the workshop and hit my powerline box blind. Had to run deer off to get to the blind. Set the caller up and got in the blind. By the time I was in my chair another doe had walked out and was standing right next to the caller. I hit the "baby fawn" option and the doe went straight up about 8 feet. So now the caller is calling, and here comes another doe to save the poor little fawn. She got within 6 feet of the caller and just stared at it. Sounds like a fawn, but sure looks odd. She'd walk away and then come back and finally wandered off. And in 20 seconds, here comes a coyote with food on the mind. All this long range shooting gear I have and the coyote is at 25 yards. Oh well...that one is down. Back to calling and here comes a doe from about 300 yards away to save the fawn. She got close and then peeled off and went into the woods. I tried a few different calls (baby pig distress and cottontail distress), but no more luck on the coyotes. Back to the house for coffee. I like that Alpha Dogg. Well designed and super loud (if that's what you want).

A while back I called some crows with it and in very short order I was surrounded by crows - all raising heck.

Not my monkeys, not my circus...
