Is this weather pattern a sign of a rainy hunting season? I know we have had our best bucks taken during muddy weekends. It has just been too long.

I dont know about marble falls, but in Huntsville I can tell a big difference in both the temp. and as you can imagin the rain as well.
I think this year at least for the Huntsville area will be a wet and cold winter, and I couldnt be happier. From an agriculture stand point we need the rain and a hunters point of view I love to not sweat when hunting.

I'm with Curly. Just get it good and cold. Wet just makes it muddy, slick, and nasty.

Are you up around the Haynesville area?

I've got a couple of good friends in Haynesville, die hard Quail hunters. They'll leave a Friday night football game, go home and pack and still be here by day break the next morning.

Locally they said this summer has been the hottest and driest since 1998, and much worse, and when that drought broke, it was followed with record rainfall and flooding.

That is another thing I'd like to do this year. Never been quail hunting. I dunno why I have such an interest in birds all of a sudden (ducks, quail, pheasant).

Dry wet cold hot as long as my deep freeze barely closes when it's all over.
I really don't have a preference, well just as long as i'm not having to wear shorts (did that one opening day)
