Will 1,000 pounds of cotton seed fit in a regular bed pick up? I have no idea what 1000 pounds even looks like and have never dealt with it before. It is the smallest ammount I can buy so Im giving it a shot.

Don't think so. We bought it by the ton, and I don't think a Big truck load was over 3 tons. But that could of been th peanut hulls... I can't remeber

I think it will be to bulky. Maybe not if you put some tall sides on your truck

It has been over 30 years since I bought or even hauled cotton seed. I think it will depends if it is good cleaned seed or seed with trash. The seed with trash will be real bulky. I would call the place and ask them.

If it's cotton seed it will, if it's cottonseed hulls, no. The 50# bags are twice the size of corn bags. Unless you want to stack them high and strap them.

1500 #'s is on a pallet. It will fit, but needs to be strapped down.

Is it delinted or not. If it is not delinted it will not feed through a feeder and it a thosand pounds will fill up the bed of a truck.

Lady said it was clean seed and is selling it to me in 100lb bags which are the size of a large dog food bag. I take it that it is delinted then.

So i guess I should have no problem fitting it after all.

I never heard of feeding pure cottonseed. Just hulls or burrs. something new for me.

$300 a ton so $150 for half a ton or $17 for a $100 bag. I have never fed pure cotton seed either... Its new to me. Should I go with the burrs or hulls? Is that what everyone else does...

Wouldn't that be $15 per 100# bag? Anyway, about the same price as corn. Never seen deer grazing in a cotton field before. I might have been missing out all these years.

The deer will eat cotton seed and the combination of seeds and hulls. They also can pretty well demolish a cotton field. Several cotton field around us have fences on the side that border on pastures to keep the deer out of the fields.

They mark it up a bit to sell in smaller quanities. Thats why not $15 per bag. Well time to hit the sack. Its aoudad hunting time tomorrow!
