Just a friendly message to my friends here at THF... There was a thread on THF about Optics Planet and their backorder problems. I've had back orders from them on the last three orders - before I read the thread on THF - LOL!! The last one was back ordered over a month before I cancelled it. Anyway.... I ordered some gun cases from www.tactical-store.com and got an immediate confirmation of received payment via PayPal. Today, I got a familiar looking backorder e-mail from them that apologised for the problem, etc. adding that the cases ARE on their way to them and should be at their location in 4-6 weeks..... Dang, this message looks very familiar.... Then I see the link in the e-mail to Optics Planets fast ship webpage to upsell me some cases they DO have in stock and guarantee shipping within 24 hours - for much more money, of course.... But the shipping WAS free..must be via 3 legged dung beetle, tho!

I never order from optics planet. I have got that email way to often from them.

I got worked over hard by Opticsplanet, I will never ever deal with them again. I was dicussing that issue on here when Skylar from SWFA.com chimed in for me to call him. I did and he matched Opticsplanet deal, even the additional coupon I had off with them. Even though the deal, by that time was over.
SWFA went above and beyond plus they are based here in Texas. I will pay the extra for Tax, just knowing that I can call them and talk directly to one of our brother on here.

I did try 7 local Austin shops first!
And didn't know this store was just another page on the Optics Planet site.

I've made it a point to not order anything from Optics Planet. I recently ordered a belt on Ebay from tactical-store and didn't realize until I paid it was part of Optics Planet. I got lucky and got my belt quick, but I probably won't order from tactical-store again.

I just got a scope that had been on back order since January. Luckily I wasnt in a hurry. But I wont be a customer again.

Well, at least they refund the money quickly when you cancel the order.....
