Academy will sponsor it's first annual TURKEY CALLING CONTEST at the Waco Academy 210 N. New Road on Saturday - March 1, 2008 beginning at 10AM thru 2PM. FREE REGISTRATION AT ACADEMY WACO beginning February 17 with three divisions of entry for men, women, & children:

1.GOBBLERS (adult 16 & older)
2. JAKES ( ages 6-15)
3. POULTS (age 5 & under)NOTE: costume contest only


PRIZES:
1. BENELLI shotgun - Gobbler Division winner
2. Mossberg youth shotgun - Jake Division winner
3. $50 gift certificate - Poult costume winner

Winners will be determined by calling techniques and showmanship.

Other prizes and awards announced at the contest.

Thats sounds so awesome and i would love to come, but im not gunna be able to make the trek down to waco this weekend sadly. Let me know if you hear of any other ones coming up. Already have plans to do some work and play on a ranch south of Brownwood. Gunna move some feeders around and shoot some hogs

We had 32 entrants all total. The top prizes were awarded with the Grand Champion winning a 20lb. BUTTER BALL TURKEY in addition to his Benelli Nova 12 ga.

Janice from Cajun Injector cooked up about 60lbs. of turkey breast... Primos handed out turkey calls, winners got turkey decoys.... Benelli handed out ball caps.... we had Cajun Turkey Fryers to each winner... Eastman Blinds to the 2nd place winners.....Hunter Specialties gave away calls and shirts.....
