BULLET!!!
Really liked the picture of the chicken all thru the process. LOVED your choice of "basting sauce" even better!
(OK- let me have it for my choice of "liquid refreshment". I've heard it before and can handle it quite well)

I didnt baste with it anything. Drink 1/2 a beer and put it up in the inside and grill. Cook about 3-4 hours.

I was referring to the choice of beer.

Whatever beer you are drinking that day will do. I have had it with many different type and they are all good.

Yeah, I do that a lot. I got a big smoker, I can get 12 chickens in there like that. I’ll also use a can of ranch style beans too, it needs to be a big chicken, or else it is hard to get the chicken on the can because the ranch style bean can is bigger than a beer can. But it gives the beans good flavor, and I think the beans give the chicken good flavor, and is just once less thing you have to heat up in the kitchen.

On my smoker, I slow cook everything between 225 to 275. I'll cook ribs and sausage about 12
hours, and chicken 4 to 6 hours, just when ever it looks done, and there is a rule when I cook,
no one is allowed to rush me!!

Good looking bird. This weekend is a pork butt. By the way if you shop at Wal-Mart check the dates on the meats. I bought a pork butt and it was a week out. I will never by any meat at wal-mart again.

I tell ya another trick I do with beer can chicken in the smoker is to make a “foil cap” that sits on top of the chicken where it goes about half way down the chicken, I do this in the beginning, and take it off an hr or some before serving. This keeps the chicken from turning black from the smoke, makes it more “golden brown”, and it also deflects the heat from the breast some, because 1) the breast is higher where it is hotter and 2) the breast does not take as long to cook as the thighs, so this is something you have to contend with, you don’t want to overcook the breast and make it dry.

Guy, that's a good tip about the foil cap. Will try that next time.

What is that in the top of the chicken to seal it off? I've used sausage to seal them off and it's great.

Also, I love using a dark beer, apple juice, or wine in a can. They all give different flavors and great taste.
