I have seen lots of pictures of "Blaze" or a dog like him around and I was wondering what he was. It says Picture by John Hardin of Blaze.

Thanks. I was telling someone about the pictures, but I said it was something else and he told me I was wrong. I hate being wrong.

Blaze is a beautiful girl. Here is a site I found that has some wonderful photo galleries of dogs, including Vizslas and a few far more uncommon breeds: http://www.craigkoshykphoto.ca/dogs.html

Vizslas are GREAT dogs!!! I have owned four of them over the years. VERY intelligent, SUPER upland bird dogs. I have heard of them being great for waterfowl, but never knew anyone that used them for that in my neck of the woods. Would love to own one again, but have not found any pups that had the looks I wanted. Blaze is just the type I am looking for. But the wife says the current dogs need to go first (2 GSPs). Well, maybe someday!

Found it. Link: Vizsla hunting tripBTW, Even though I am not bird hunting this time of year, Blaze still is. She has been pointing and stalking dove in the back yard every chance she gets. Two days ago I opened the back door to let her in and there in the middle of the yard was a bunch of feathers and my dog standing there with a big live whitewing in her mouth. Second one in a month. Fortunate that I noticed her both times. Might have caused some problems come hunting season if she had gone far enough to eat one.

Do you hunt doves with her? I would love to own a Vizsla and the wife wants one too...which is a plus. Do you know of any breeders?

Sure do. She usually sees them before I do. She also gets real popular on a Dove field finding lost birds for others. Blaze is a big girl for a Vizsla, most of her Bloodline is in Hungary. My dog came from a breeder Florida, but they only match up dogs every couple of years or so. Nothing right now. If your serious, I would suggest subscribing to the vizslahunt Yahoo Groups and hanging out there and asking questions. John

Hey Sniper John, speaking of your awesome photos of Blaze -- did you see the latest issue of NAVHDA's magazine? It is calling for photos in a contest, and I am sure some of the awesome photos you've taken could compete. If you're interested and don't have the latest issue, let me know and I will send you more info on it.
Hopefully I will have Arrow ready for dove season this year. He is coming along nicely with his FF training and our group is planning to return to Murray field again. If you end up there, maybe Blaze can show him how it is really done!

John, I did see the photos in November. I didn't realize they were the same dog. She looks great.
