Ram hunt

Ram hunt - 07/02/13 12:26 AM

New to the forum here but I thought I would share some pictures of my ram hunt me and my father took a few months back. We went to Thompson Temple ranch, and we both had a great time.

This is the ram that I took with my bow. Was a 40 yard shot. quartering away and he ran about thirty yards then went down.

These are the rams that both me and my dad took with our rifles.

My fathers and my bow kill both ended up scoring bronze, and my rifle ended up scoring silver. We had a blast as this was both of our first ram hunts and we look forward to doing more hunts out in the Hill Country.

Thanks
Walter

Congrats. Rams make great mounts whether it be shoulder mounts or euros.

Thanks guys. We are having shoulder mounts done on the painted desert ram and texas dall ram. But I am doing a euro mount on rambo.

We turned all the meat into jerky and it turned out great.

Congrats!

What tag color/code were these rams? I have been looking into going and was just wanting to see the size/price comparison.

One on the left is orange and the right is yellow it looks like in the 2nd pic.

I think that was correct, but the rambo ram was untagged. If you go to Thompsons place do not kill one on the first night if you are there for more than one day. Go up on the mountain to the back side and look for a big ram with no tag as there are some there.
