Three corn thieves and one Pepe le Pew down - 05/19/14 12:52 PM

Headed up to the ranch sans Spousal Unit last weekend. Friday PM set out the Duke's Dog Proof traps at two feeder pens, go back to the house to grab some grub. Sitting on the front porch and Pepe Le Pew is out in the pasture digging for grubs. Grab the 410 single shot and sprint down, triple-check wind direction and lay him out. After the sandwich head down to the dam and sit there watching the feeder. About 45 minutes later a big boar coon comes out for dinner. The 17 HMR takes care of him. After the 10:00 news hop on the 4 wheeler and go check the traps. Two more down, 125,398 to go...

Love seeing the racoons down. It warms my soul. up

We are like you, about a half a million to go. Lucky for me they will sit there when you hit them with a red light on my scope. That way I can pick'em off with the 22.

What do you bait your dukes traps with? Dang coons are thinning out my chicken herd?

I used sardines. Jammed some down in the bottom behind the trigger.

Froot Loops work well in the dog proof traps also.
