U may ask why.cause my kids asked if we could save them.and I gave in.we don't need to kill every pig in tx.I wouldn't have anything to do with all my dogs.

Good deal. It's a valuable lesson for the kids. Yes there is a pig problem. But I try to teach my children to have more respect for the animals we hunt than just killing something. I think it's a great thing. But they would end up on the dinner table at my house, and I have told my kids just that.

Very noble, nothing wrong with respecting life. I applaud your decision.

That piglet wouldn't wind up on the dinner table at my house. It would just be a pet.

That's going to be a very unique experience that your kids have and those memories will last a lifetime. They apparently gentle very easily and will romp, run and jump in the bed of your pickup like a dog. Spay/neuter for sure, though. (unless, assuming female, you want to use her as a "judas pig" when she goes into heat)

Well, just like there's a silver lining in an unsuccessful hog hunt (you don't have to clean a nasty pig), at least you won't be scooping any pig poo.
